Teen solves centuries-old math problem
LOS ANGELES, May 15 (UPI) -- The judge's song picks have been leaked as the three "American Idol" finalists make triumphant returns to their hometowns this weekend.
The Los Angeles Times' "IdolTracker" reports Lee DeWyze will sing Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah," Casey James will sing John Mayer's "Daughters" and Crystal Bowersox will take on Paul McCartney's "Maybe I'm Amazed" during Tuesday night's broadcast on FOX TV.
More than 41,000 fans cheered a 10-song set by DeWyze at Arlington Park racetrack Friday night in Arlington Heights, Ill., the Chicago Sun-Times reported Saturday. He also threw out the first pitch at a Chicago Cubs game and was hailed with a parade in his hometown of Mount Prospect.
Elliston, Ohio, native Crystal Bowersox received a similar welcome in her home state, The (Toledo) Blade reported.
Her reaction to the thousands of well-wishers was to tell The Blade, "It's really beyond words."
Bad weather rained on James's parade in Fort Worth, Texas, where he was forced to cut short his concert at the Stockyards Back Forty pavilion, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported. Although his pre-concert parade was a wash, James spent a busy Friday signing autographs, doing radio and TV interviews, and making other (indoor) appearances.
Highlights of the finalists' home visits will be shown during Tuesday night's "Idol" broadcast.
