NEW YORK, May 10 (UPI) -- Pop music icon Cyndi Lauper became the latest contestant booted on the U.S. competition series "The Celebrity Apprentice."

Host and producer Donald Trump fired the "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" singer Sunday night after her team lost a challenge involving refurbishing apartments for visiting executives, EW.com said.

Still competing on "Apprentice" on behalf of their favorite charities are Bret Michaels, Curtis Stone, Sharon Osbourne, Holly Robinson Peete and Maria Kanellis.

The show's finale is scheduled to air May 23.
