NEW YORK, March 26 (UPI) -- The Roundabout Theatre Company says its Broadway production of "Lips Together, Teeth Apart" has been postponed following the sudden departure of Megan Mullally.

The troupe announced Wednesday the actress had quit the four-person ensemble comedy, which was scheduled to begin previews April 9. The Roundabout said at the time that the show would start later with a replacement for Mullally. No reason was given for her departure.

"We could not find a way to maintain the production schedule under these circumstances," Artistic Director Todd Haimes said in a statement Thursday. "We are now exploring options to produce a show for our subscribers as soon as possible."

Subscribers are to be contacted directly once a new show has been announced and scheduling has been confirmed.

Refunds will automatically be issued to all customers who bought single tickets to "Lips Together, Teeth Apart," the company said.

Mullally was to co-star with Patton Oswalt, David Wilson Barnes and Lili Taylor in the production.
