LONDON, March 15 (UPI) -- British pop star Mark Owen's wife told a friend she may leave him even though he is seeking treatment for alcohol addiction in an effort to save his marriage.

The Take That singer has been married to actress Emma Owen for six months. They have been a couple for five years and have two children together.

Mark Owen checked into a rehabilitation center Friday after admitting to having one-night stands with 10 women and having one long-term affair while he was dating Emma Owen, press reports have indicated. He has insisted he has been monogamous since he married her, however.

"Emma is absolutely mortified and as things stand she doesn't think she can take Mark back. The sheer scale of the betrayal is so huge," a friend of Emma's told the Sunday Mirror. "Almost overnight, Emma has gone from being in what she thought was a happy marriage to finding out her husband is a serial adulterer with a big drink problem. ... She's scared of girls coming out of the woodwork and selling their story about liaisons with him."
