NEW YORK, March 7 (UPI) -- Grammy Award-winning crooner D'Angelo has been arrested in New York for allegedly propositioning an undercover police officer, authorities said.
The R&B singer born Michael Archer was arrested Saturday after he allegedly offered a policewoman posing as a prostitute $40 for oral sex, the New York Post reported.
The singer was charged with solicitation, sources told the newspaper.
A search of his Range Rover reportedly uncovered $12,000 in cash.
D'Angelo's camp has thus far declined to comment, the Post said.
