Teen solves centuries-old math problem

LONDON, March 2 (UPI) -- The British Broadcasting Corp. has confirmed it plans to close its BBC 6 Music and Asian Network divisions as a cost-saving measure.
Mark Thompson, the BBC's director general, said the operations could close as early as next year. He also told staff Monday that half of the company's Web sites, including the teen destinations Switch and Blast, are to be shut down by 2013.
Thompson said the majority of the BBC's licensing fees in the future will be spent on quality dramatic, comedic, musical and cultural programming, as well as international news.
The idea is to make "fewer things better," Thompson said.
