LOS ANGELES, March 1 (UPI) -- The cast of the U.S. music-themed dramedy series "Glee" is to appear in a string of stage shows, 20th Century Fox Television announced Monday.

The Hollywood Reporter said "Glee Live! In Concert!" dates are planned in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Phoenix.

The stars' renditions of songs like "Don't Stop Believin,'" "Somebody to Love," "Jump," "Don't Rain on My Parade" and "Sweet Caroline" have become big hits as part of "Glee" soundtrack CDs and as digital downloads on iTunes.

"The response of the fans to our little show has been so immediate and so gratifying, we wanted to get out and thank them live and in person," the entertainment industry trade newspaper quoted series co-creator Ryan Murphy as saying. "And what show lends itself more to a concert than 'Glee?' We can't wait to take this show on the road and the actors couldn't be more excited to perform live for audiences in these four cities."
