LAS VEGAS, March 1 (UPI) -- Tickets for 20 upcoming Garth Brooks concerts at the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas were sold out within hours of becoming available, the venue said.

The tickets for the spring and summer shows went on sale Saturday and were quickly snapped up by fans.

"Unprecedented demand for Garth's concerts continues to overwhelm as the Wynn Las Vegas Web sites and phones were inundated with traffic for concert tickets this morning," the venue said in a new release Saturday. "The resort phone lines received more than 75,000 calls and the Web site received more than 2.1 million page views. While every effort was made to thwart the activity of scalpers, they persistently besieged our systems with cyber attacks during this ticket sale and our systems were at times slowed."

Future Garth Brooks concert dates are expected to be announced in the next few months, Wynn Las Vegas said.
