NEW YORK, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Sterling Children's Books says it plans to publish a picture book based on U.S. music icon Bob Dylan's song "Man Gave Names to All the Animals."
The book, which is set for release in September, will include a CD with the original recording from Dylan's "Slow Train Coming" album, the publisher said Monday.
The book is being illustrated by artist and naturalist Jim Arnosky.
"From the first time I heard it, the lyrics created pictures in my mind of a land of primeval beauty," Arnosky said in a statement. "I thought this vision would make a dream of a book, and I asked for Bob Dylan's permission to make this dream come true. Happily, he said, 'yes.'"
"Jim has outdone himself with the lush, detailed illustrations, and we couldn't be more delighted to have this opportunity to work with Bob Dylan," Senior Editor Meredith Mundy noted.
"When we published the picture book of 'Puff, the Magic Dragon,' which has sold a million copies, we realized how strongly folk songs resonate across generations. We're equally confident Bob Dylan's fans will enjoy sharing 'Man Gave Names to All the Animals' with the children in their lives," added Frances Gilbert, vice president and publisher of Sterling Children's Books.
