LOS ANGELES, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Fans who showed up for a Guns N' Roses show in Canada wearing T-shirts bearing the image of former GNR guitarist Slash were asked to turn them inside out.

TMZ said security was instructed by the band's producer last Wednesday to tell concertgoers they had to remove or hide any signs of Slash, including replicas of his trademark top hat, before entering the venue.

Most of the fans obliged, but a few refused and were not admitted into the concert, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.

Slash recorded and performed with GNR between 1985 and 1996, the band's most successful period.

He left the group after a falling out with lead singer Axl Rose and TMZ said the bad blood between them was to blame for the dress code at the concert last week.
