BURBANK, Calif., Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Canadian-born pop star Celine Dion says she and her husband Rene Angelil plan to continue trying to conceive a second child via in-vitro fertilization.

"We are trying to have a second child and we hope to be blessed again as parents. That would be amazing," Dion told TV's "Access Hollywood."

Asked about last month's reports claiming she had been pregnant, the 41-year-old singer explained: "We were (pregnant,) it was positive. And yes it was, so for about four or five days later, then with the blood test, they found out that it was going down a little bit and it was not staying. So it happens you know, in life in general, people who are not on TV, and newspapers, they go through this all the time. ... I feel strong and honestly, we are very blessed. We have a wonderful child, we're extremely happy. It's not like, 'Oh my God, she's not pregnant and she's depressed.' You know how it works. We are great. We hope for the best, we hope to get pregnant. If it happens, it happens."

Dion and her 67-year-old husband have an 8-year-old son named Rene-Charles.
