LONDON, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- British rocker Ronnie Wood was arrested for suspicion of assault in connection with a domestic incident, police in Surrey said.

The 62-year-old member of the Rolling Stones entered a rehab facility last year to be treated for alcohol addiction and Jo, his wife of 24 years, divorced him last month amid reports he had left her for a 20-year-old woman.

Wood's publicist Thursday told BBC News the famed guitarist was arrested after an "incident," but offered no further details.

"We can confirm that a 62-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with a domestic incident," a police spokesman told the British broadcaster.

The musician reportedly has been released on bail and is due back in court next month.
