LOS ANGELES, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- If Los Angeles authorities file charges in Michael Jackson's homicide it won't be until 2010 because there is so much evidence to review, sources say.
Jackson died June 25 at the age of 50. His death was ruled a homicide after lethal levels of the anesthesia propofol and sedatives were found in his system.
Police have said Dr. Conrad Murray, the pop icon's personal physician, admitted he administered the drugs to Jackson to help him sleep shortly before he died.
Murray has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing and his lawyer has said he is fully cooperating with the investigation.
The Los Angeles Times cited an unnamed law-enforcement official as saying the decision regarding whether to file criminal charges in the Jackson case is "months rather than weeks away."
Evidence gathered is expected to be reviewed by detectives, prosecutors and outside medical experts before a final decision is made, sources with knowledge of the investigation told the newspaper.
