QUEBEC CITY, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- A memorabilia collector in Quebec City is suing Michael Jackson's estate and Julien's Auction House for canceling an auction while the pop star was still alive.

In a Los Angeles court filing Wednesday, Richard Lapointe is seeking at least $5 million, or the 82 undisclosed items he bid on in April, the Canwest News Service reported.

Lapointe said he was the only one to have bids in on the items that went on display at Julien's in Hollywood April 22.

Before the auction, however, Jackson challenged the sale and demanded some items back. He and the auction house came to an undisclosed settlement and the entire auction was called off.

Jackson died three months later at age 50.

Lapointe also has one of the world's largest collections of Beatles memorabilia, the report said.
