SANTA MONICA, Calif., Nov. 25 (UPI) -- The soundtrack for the new U.S. holiday movie, "Curious George: A Very Monkey Christmas," was released this week, the Savoy Label Group said.

The CD was released Monday on SLG's Denon Records imprint as part of a worldwide deal with Universal Studios, the record label said.

"A Very Monkey Christmas" is the first holiday-themed movie to feature the beloved children's character Curious George the monkey. It is scheduled to air during PBS pledge-drive programming beginning Wednesday and continuing throughout December.

The soundtrack features the television show's theme performed by SLG/429 Records' Grammy-winning recording artist Dr. John, with songs and score composed by Nick Nolan.
