NEW YORK, Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Record producer Sean "Diddy" Combs spent $3 million on his 40th birthday party at The Plaza Hotel in New York, observers say.
The New York Post reported Sunday that Combs' birthday celebration at the New York hotel included a silver-confetti drop, a $30,000 orchid display and a black dance floor installed just for last week's event.
Singer Al Green performed at last Thursday's lavish affair, which drew a variety of celebrities.
The Post said among the famous names attending Combs' party were TV host Martha Stewart, actor Denzel Washington, singer Bono and model Christy Turlington.
Several of Combs' fellow rappers were also in attendance such as Nelly, Jay-Z and Fabolous.
