LONDON, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- British rock 'n' roll icon Elton John has postponed the final date on his Red Piano concert tour because he is still suffering from the flu.
"Elton's symptoms have not improved significantly enough for doctors to allow him to perform this Friday at the O2 in Dublin," a message on the 62-year-old singer's Web site said.
"Elton's spokesman said, 'He is bitterly disappointed not to play in Dublin.' He had picked Dublin to close the Red Piano worldwide because of the great warmth of the people and the great concerts he had in the city over many years. He is hoping to reschedule the dates in the very near future."
The tour's promoters apologized on John's Web site and said they are working to reschedule the dates.
In addition to the Dublin gig, John also canceled shows in Liverpool, Sheffield, Newcastle and London this month due to his illness.
