Saint Laurent tops rich dead celeb list

NEW YORK, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent tops Forbes's 2009 list of the Top-Earning Dead Celebrities.

He earned $350 million this year, the magazine said on its Web site.

Coming in at No. 2 is the musical theater writing team Rodgers & Hammerstein, which earned $235 million, followed by pop star Michael Jackson at No. 3 with $90 million, rock 'n' roll icon Elvis Presley at No. 4 with

$55 million and novelist J.R.R. Tolkien at No. 5 with $50 million.

Rounding out the top tier are "Peanuts" comic-strip creator Charles Schulz at No. 6 with $35 million,

singer-songwriter John Lennon at No. 7 with $15 million, children's book scribe Dr. Seuss at No. 8 with $15 million, scientist Albert Einstein at No. 9 with $10 million and author and television producer Michael Crichton at No. 10 with $9 million.
