NEW YORK, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Opera singer Gabriela Pochinki says she is happy she likely will avoid criminal charges after being arrested at a New York eatery.
The 42-year-old Argentine singer said she was informed if she avoided additional trouble, the criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and obstruction of governmental administration charges against her would be dropped, the New York Post reported Saturday.
Pochinki was arrested last weekend at the Nice Matin restaurant after allegedly making a scene.
Police allege Pochinki and her mother began having a loud telephone conversation last Sunday with an unidentified individual. Pochinki allegedly responded to a waitress's request for the pair to lower their volume by verbally berating the employee.
After the opera singer allegedly ignored requests from a restaurant manager and police for the pair to leave, she was arrested.
"I am also deeply sorry this situation turned out the way it did and that I was speaking too loudly on my cell phone," Pochinki told the Post.
