NEW YORK, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Rachael Ray is campaigning to get the U.S. duo Hall & Oates into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Legacy Recordings said.

The celebrity chef and television personality was shocked at a recent taping of her daytime chat show when she learned guests Daryl Hall and John Oates have not been inducted into the Hall of Fame, their record label said. The episode is to air Nov. 6.

Acts are eligible for induction into the hall after performing for 25 years. Hall and Oates first got together in 1969.

"Hall and Oates has my vote!" Ray said in a call to action posted on her blog, urging fans to leave comments advocating the duo's induction.

"In fewer than 48 hours, the makeshift petition had amassed nearly 400 testimonials, plus groundswells of support on Twitter and Facebook," Legacy said in a release.

Hall & Oates is to perform on the episode of A&E's "Private Sessions" to air Sunday morning.
