LOS ANGELES, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- All 16 professional dancers from Season 9 of the U.S. dance competition series "Dancing with the Stars" are working on a Michael Jackson tribute, ABC said.

Jackson died June 25 at the age of 50.

"In a special 'Macy's Stars of Dance' performance, the 'Dancing with the Stars' professional dancers will honor Michael Jackson's music and influence on dance with a fusion of classic ballroom and Latin styles," the network said in a news release. "Choreographed by the professional dancers, this performance will pay tribute in a medley of three of Michael Jackson's hit songs representing different styles and eras of his work."

The segment is to air on Tuesday night's results show.

"Michael Jackson and his music are an inspiration to every dancer. As a performer, he was such an innovator that to be able to choreograph part of this tribute to him is an honor," cast member Cheryl Burke said in a statement.

"Michael Jackson is the reason why I started to dance. I find it hard not to incorporate some element of Michael Jackson into any dance I do. His style and inspiration is forever engraved in my soul," added her co-star Derek Hough.
