The film, which is based in Langston Hughes's 1967 "gospel-song play" about the birth of Jesus tells the story with a contemporary spin.
Directed by Kasi Lemmons, of "Talk to me" fame, the film tells the story of "a street-wise teen from Baltimore, raised by a single mother, [who] travels to New York City to spend the Christmas holiday with his estranged relatives and embarks on a surprising and inspirational journey," according to IMDb.
Starrin Tyrese Gibson, Forest Whitaker, Angela Bassett Jennifer hudson and Mary J. Blidge, "Black Nativity" hits theaters November 27.
