Report: Jude Law in talks to co-star in 'Captain Marvel'

Nov. 23 (UPI) -- British actor Jude Law is in talks to co-star with Brie Larson in Captain Marvel.

The Hollywood Reporter said Friday that it is unclear what role the The Young Pope and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald actor is up for in Captain Marvel.

Variety described the part as the male lead, but also said it had no further details about who he is.

Marvel declined to comment on the possible negotiations with Law to both entertainment industry trade newspapers.

To be directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, the 1990s-set movie will star Larson as the titular super-heroine, while Samuel L. Jackson will reprise his Marvel Cinematic Universe character of Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn is to play the film's villain.

Captain Marvel is scheduled for theatrical release on March 8, 2019.
