June 9 (UPI) -- Robin Wright's Wonder Woman character General Antiope is set to return in Justice League, the actress and her costar Connie Nielsen have confirmed.

Nielsen portrays the mother of Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and Amazon leader Queen Hippolyta alongside Wright as her sister and military leader of Themyscira.

"Of course the mother daughter relationship is always a beautiful but complex relationship. I think that there's more to explore," Gadot said while speaking with The Los Angeles Times alongside Wright and Nielsen.

"And [Wright and I] got to do more in Justice League as well. As sisters as well. Kind of [expletive] as well. We can't say much," added Nielsen, with Wright adding, "And more of the story, you get some of the history."

General Antiope will most likely appear in Justice League as part of a flashback sequence as Wright's character was killed in combat in Wonder Woman.

The first full-length trailer of Justice League offers a brief glimpse of a scene involving a large group of Amazons going to war against an unknown threat. Potentially, this is where Queen Hippolyta and General Antiope can reappear.

Justice League, which features Gadot teaming up with Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher), arrives in theaters Nov. 17.
