June 5 (UPI) -- Sony Pictures released three new teasers for its upcoming adaptation of Stephen King's The Dark Tower novels Sunday. One 30-second clip focuses on Matthew McConaughey's villain, the Man in Black, while another spotlights Idris Elba's knight Roland.

The third video offers a glimpse of an epic showdown between the two.
Directed by Nikolaj Arcel, the sci-fi western is set for theatrical release on Aug. 4.
"The last Gunslinger, Roland Deschain, has been locked in an eternal battle with Walter O'Dim, also known as the Man in Black, determined to prevent him from toppling the Dark Tower, which holds the universe together. With the fate of the worlds at stake, good and evil will collide in the ultimate battle as only Roland can defend the Tower from the Man in Black," the movie studio said in a synopsis.
