Banks is producing the project with her Universal-based company Brownstone Productions alongside her husband and producing partner Max Handelman, Variety reported.

Charlie's Angles has yet to reveal its cast. The reboot will be the second film directed by Banks following Pitch Perfect 2 after spending most of her career in front of the camera as an actress.

The property was last turned into a film in 2000 starring Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu. A sequel, Charlie's Angeles: Full Throttle, was also released in 2003.

Sony also announced that their upcoming World War II drama The Nightingale from Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones alum Michelle MacLaren, will arrive in theaters on Aug. 10, 2018.
