March 24 (UPI) -- Chris Pratt says he's not "impervious" to recent comments about his weight.

The 37-year-old actor responded to criticism of his "skeletal" figure with a candid message and a photo of T-Rex skull Thursday on Instagram.

"So many people have said I look too thin in my recent episodes of #WHATSMYSNACK," Pratt wrote. "Some have gone as far as to say I look 'skeletal' Well, just because I am a male doesn't mean I'm impervious to your whispers. Body shaming hurts."

"To prove my security in the way I look I'm posting a current selfie of me at what I consider a very healthy weight. 500 lbs. Zero percent body fat. Totally JK guys. This is a T Rex skull. Nailed you so bad. Omg," he joked.

Pratt has been posting a series of "#WHATSMYSNACK" videos as he films Jurassic World 2. The clips show the actor as he eats his allotted snack, including a cacao baobab banana chia shake and sashimi, on set.

"#JurassicWorld2 #WHATSMYSNACK watch me eat cat food like a good little boy," he captioned a video last week.

Pratt came to fame on the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation, and dramatically slimmed down for the 2014 movie Guardians of the Galaxy. He said in the June 2015 issue of GQ that wife Anna Faris "preferred" him bigger.

"She doesn't get to cook for me the way she used to," the star said.

"She understands and she just supports me regardless. I think that part of her is hedging her bets that one day I'll be fat again, and she'll say, 'Remember, honey, I always told you I preferred you this way,'" he joked.

Jurassic World 2 opens in theaters in June 2018.
