Animated Spider-Man movie with Miles Morales set for release in 2018

Sony Pictures Animation says it will release its untitled, animated Spider-Man movie on Dec. 21, 2018.

The story will follow the adventures of comic-book character Miles Morales as he assumes the identity of the titular web-slinger.

No casting has been announced yet.

The feature will be directed by Bob Persichetti and Peter Ramsey. It was written by Phil Lord, with Lord, Avi Arad, Amy Pascal and Christopher Miller executive producing.
