NEW YORK, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Chris Pratt says wife Anna Faris was comfortable with his Passengers sex scene with Jennifer Lawrence.

The 37-year-old actor revealed how he and Faris navigated the potential awkwardness of the intimate scene while appearing on Tuesday's episode of Sway in the Morning.

"[Anna] came to the set a couple times. She was doing her show Mom back in L.A., and so she and [our son] Jack would come to the set and hang out, and Jen and Anna got along really well," Pratt shared.

"We have an understanding of what we do for a living, and I think that if I was married to somebody who was, like, a schoolteacher or a different job, maybe it'd be a little harder for them to comprehend what exactly goes down or the sacrifices you have to make," he said.

Pratt himself was in a similar situation when Faris filmed a sex scene with Captain America star Chris Evans for the 2011 movie What's Your Number?. The actor said Evans put him at ease by making an effort to get to know him and hang out.

"Immediately any weirdness that was there disappeared, and I felt like the same thing happened with Jen and Anna," he said. "Jen was like, 'Hey man,' and gave her this nice Dior handbag and called her and texted her and appeared on her podcast and stuff. It's like you just have to make an effort to un-weird the situation."

Pratt and Faris married in 2009, and welcomed their son Jack in 2012. The actress admitted on her podcast last week that speculation about Pratt and Lawrence's relationship initially bothered her.

"I take pride in how great my relationship is with Chris, but having said that, of course, in this crazy world where he's off doing movies and I'm in L.A. raising our child, of course I'm going to feel vulnerable, like any normal human would," she confessed. "It made me feel incredibly insecure."

Passengers opens in theaters Dec. 21.
