ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Walt Disney World said it will use digital projections to temporarily transform the iconic spherical attraction Spaceship Earth at its Epcot theme park into the Death Star from Star Wars.

The Orlando Sentinel and CNet.com said Monday's makeover is in honor of the film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which is to storm theaters Dec. 16. The movie stars Felicity Jones and Diego Luna.

It is unclear whether this Death Star illusion at Epcot will become a regular event as Disney World beefs up its Star Wars presence in its parks, particularly Hollywood Studios, which is already home to the "Star Tours" ride.

Several Star Wars sequel movies and spinoffs are currently in the works.
