LOS ANGELES, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- In the trailer for the upcoming film Gifted, Chris Evans plays an uncle who fights to give his intellectually gifted niece a normal life.

Mary's gifts are discovered by her teacher, played by Jenny Slate, who recommends Mary enter a school for gifted children.

Frank declines the offer, noting his sister would not have wanted that for Mary.

Frank's mother, played by Lindsay Duncan, takes Frank to court to sue for custody of Mary.

Gifted, which premieres in theaters on April 12, 2017, also stars Ocatavia Spencer and Julie Ann Emery.
