Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal battle Martian species in 'Life' trailer

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal are two astronauts who come face to face with a destructive Martian species in the trailer for the upcoming thriller, Life.

Reynolds and Gyllenhaal are part of a crew on the International Space Station who make the life-changing discovery of life on Mars. Things turn south for the team as they quickly discover that the life form is not anything like they initially expected.

The film, which is slated for release on Memorial Day 2017, also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Olga Dihovichnaya, Ariyon Bakare, and Hiroyuki Sanada.

Life is directed by Safe House director Daniel Espinosa and written by Deadpool's writing duo, Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.
