LOS ANGELES, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Halle Berry returns to film in a dramatic first trailer for Kidnap.

Kidnap is directed by Pusher helmer Luis Prieto, with Salt producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura as producer. The action-thriller opens in theaters Dec. 2 and co-stars Sage Correa, Lew Temple and Chris McGinn.

Berry last appeared on film in the 2014 movie X-Men: Days of Future Past and later played Molly Woods on the CBS series Extant. The actress herself is the mother of to two children, 8-year-old daughter Nahla and 2-year-old son Maceo.

"I didn't think it was possible to have another baby," she admitted on The Ellen Degeneres Show in 2014. "[Nahla] prayed and prayed for him for like a year and a half for a baby and a bunk bed and she got both of those things."

Berry is known for such films as Swordfish, Monster's Ball and Die Another Day. She is also slated for the Kingsman: The Secret Service sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which opens June 16, 2017.
