NEW YORK, July 26 (UPI) -- Long before he was a failed Republican presidential candidate, Dr. Ben Carson had another brush with fame as a bit player in the 2003, big-screen comedy Stuck on You.

Greg Kinnear talked during a visit to The View Tuesday about appearing in scenes with Carson, a real-life surgeon who played the doctor who separates Kinnear's character from his conjoined twin, played by Matt Damon.

"Another thing someone told me is that you were in a movie with Ben Carson. He's an actor?" View co-host Joy Behar wanted to know.

"Yes, yeah, Ben's an actor," Kinnear replied, nodding his head, as footage from the Farrelly brothers' film was shown.

"That's Matt Damon and I being separated in a movie called Stuck on You. This was during that period of time when there was a rush on Siamese twins films. [Carson] did the separation on us. ... You work with a lot of different people in show business. I never thought Ben Carson was going to be a co-actor of mine," Kinnear said.

One scene featured Carson standing over Kinnear and Damon in a hospital operating theater, while another showed him speaking with characters played by Eva Mendes and Wen Yann Shih in the waiting room.
