Shia LaBeouf's 'American Honey' set for theatrical release on Sept. 30

LOS ANGELES, June 29 (UPI) -- A24 has announced it plans to release American Honey in New York and Los Angeles theaters on Sept. 30, with a national expansion to follow.

Directed and written by Andrea Arnold, the Cannes International Film Festival favorite stars Sasha Lane, Shia LaBeouf and Riley Keough.

"Star, an adolescent girl from a troubled home, runs away with a traveling sales crew who drive across the American Midwest selling subscriptions door to door," press notes said.

"Finding her feet in this gang of teenagers, one of whom is Jake, she soon gets into the group's lifestyle of hard-partying nights, law-bending days, and young love."
