Ansel Elgort in talks to star in 'Dungeons & Dragons'

LOS ANGELES, June 28 (UPI) -- Ansel Elgort is in talks to star in the lead role in Warner Bros. upcoming adaptation of classic role-playing game, Dungeons & Dragons.

According to Variety, Elgort is the first star attached to the project which has become a priority at Warner Bros. who are looking to start a new franchise.

Dungeons & Dragons, set to be directed by Goosebumps helmer Rob Letterman and scripted by The Conjuring 2 writer David Leslie Johnson, will follow a warrior and his band of mystical creatures as they embark on an epic journey, as reported by Deadline.

Deadline also reports that actor Vin Diesel, who is a noted fan of the game, is also interested in joining the project.

Elgort has made a name for himself in Hollywood following his roles in The Fault In Our Stars, Carrie and Divergent. He will next be seen in a remake of The Billionaire Boys Club and Baby Driver from director Edgar Wright.
