'Finding Dory' is No. 1 at the North American box office for a second weekend

LOS ANGELES, June 26 (UPI) -- Finding Dory is the No. 1 movie in North America for a second weekend, earning $73.2 million in receipts, BoxOfficeMojo.com announced Sunday.

The long-awaited sequel to 2003's classic, animated, fish tale Finding Nemo features the voice talents of Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks and Ed O'Neill as various denizens of the sea.

Coming in at No. 2 for the period of June 24-26 is Independence Day: Resurgence with $41.6 million, followed by Central Intelligence at No. 3 with $18.4 million, The Shallows at No. 4 with $16.7 million and Free State of Jones at No. 5 with $7.8 million.

Rounding out the top tier are The Conjuring 2 at No. 6 with $7.7 million, Now You See Me 2 at No. 7 with $5.6 million, X-Men: Apocalypse at No. 8 with $2.5 million, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows at No. 9 with $2.4 million and Alice Through the Looking Glass at No. 10 with $2.1 million.
