Arnold Schwarzenegger joins action-comedy 'Why We're Killing Gunther'

LOS ANGELES, May 4 (UPI) -- Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed on to star in upcoming action-comedy, Why We're Killing Gunther.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will mark the directorial debut of Saturday Night Live cast member Taran Killam who will also star alongside Schwarzenegger.

Killam's wife Cobie Smulders, SNL's Bobby Moynihan, Paul Brittain, Kumail Nanjiani, Randall Park and Ryan Gaul round out the rest of the cast. Killam is also handling scripting duties.

Gunther is set to focus on Schwarzenegger as the titular character who is the world's most talented hitman. After his fellow assassins become fed up with his arrogant behavior, they decide to take him out with mixed results as Gunther always appears one step ahead.

The film will begin production in June and will be shopped around to international studios at the upcoming Cannes film festival. UTA holds the North American rights.

The former Governor of California will next be seen replacing presidential hopeful Donald Trump as the new host of NBC's Celebrity Apprentice in the show's upcoming eighth season.
