LOS ANGELES, April 30 (UPI) -- Seth Grahame-Smith will not make his directorial debut as planned on the big-screen version of The Flash.

Grahame-Smith wrote the popular novels Pride & Prejudice & Zombies and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, then adapted them as screenplays for 19th century-set horror movies.

Variety said he penned the script for The Flash, based on a treatment from Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, but left the director's chair due to unspecified, creative differences with Warner Bros., the studio making the film.

No replacement for Grahame-Smith has been announced yet.

Ezra Miller will play the superhero in the standalone movie after introducing The Flash to audiences in the ensemble picture Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The Flash is scheduled for release on March 3, 2018.
