'Southside With You' first trailer: Barack and Michelle Obama first meet

CHICAGO, April 29 (UPI) -- Barack and Michelle Obama go on their first date in the first trailer for Miramax's upcoming romantic comedy, Southside With You.

Released Thursday, the clip features the future president of the United States and first lady meeting for the first time as they discuss what constitutes a first date and what they hope to accomplish in life.

"I wonder if I can write books or hold a position of influence in civil rights," Barrack, played by Parker Sawyers, says to Michelle, portrayed by Tika Sumpter.

Directed by Richard Tanne, Southside With You, which premiered during this year's Sundance Film Festival, arrives in theaters Aug. 19.
