Liam Hemsworth takes on Woody Harrelson in 'The Duel' trailer

The actors previously co-starred in "The Hunger Games" film series.

LOS ANGELES, April 29 (UPI) -- The Duel released a first trailer starring Liam Hemsworth and Woody Harrelson on Thursday.

The preview sees David (Hemsworth), a Texas ranger, travel to a frontier town to investigate a series of murders and disappearances. The character faces off with Abraham (Harrelson), an influential but sinister preacher who killed David's father.

The Duel, which was previously titled By Way of Helena, opens in theaters June 24. The movie is directed by Wish You Were Here helmer Kiernan Darcy-Smith and co-stars Emery Cohen, William Hurt and Alice Braga.

Hemsworth and Harrelson previously co-starred as Gale and Haymitch in The Hunger Games film series. The movies starred Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss and earned a combined $2.9 billion at the box office.

Hemsworth will also star in Independence Day: Resurgence with Maika Monroe, which opens the same day as The Duel. Harrelson is slated for a number of other projects, including Now You See Me 2 with Danielle Radcliffe.
