LOS ANGELES, March 18 (UPI) -- The orc-human conflict is on full display in the latest trailer for Blizzard Entertainment's upcoming video game adaptation, Warcraft.

The new clip begins with a standoff between a human knight and a towering giant green orc, a recreation of the test footage first shown at Comic Con in 2013 when the film was first revealed.

Epic battles across vast landscapes ensue as the two warring factions battle it out for control of Azeroth. Based on the best-selling videogame series of the same name, Warcraft will explore the origin of the orc-human wars.

"The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: Orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home," reads the film's official synopsis.

Directed by Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code), the film stars Dominic Cooper, Travis Fimmel, Ben Foster, Paula Patton, Ben Schnetzer, Ruth Negga, Toby Kebbell, Robert Kazinsky, Clancy Brown, Anna Galvin and Daniel Wu.
