'Fire at Sea,' 'Hedi' win big at the Berlin Film Festival

BERLIN, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Gianfranco Rosi's refugee documentary Fire at Sea won the Golden Bear for Best Feature at the 66th Berlin Film Festival Saturday night.

The Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize went to Death in Sarajevo by Danis Tanovic, while Hedi earned the honors for Best First Feature for Mohamed Ben Attia and Best Actor for Majd Mastoura.

Mia Hansen took home the Silver Bear for Best Director for helming Things to Come and the Silver Bear for Best Actress went to Trine Dyrholm for The Commune.

The Silver Bear for Best Script was presented to United States of Love writer-director Tomasz Wasilewski and the Silver Bear for Outstanding Artistic Contribution went to Crosscurrent's Mark Lee Ping-Bing.
