LOS ANGELES, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- Jennifer Aniston has signed on to portray sports manager Denise White in the upcoming sports drama The Fixer.

Fox 2000 has green-lighted the project after hearing a pitch from Dallas Buyers Club screenwriter Melissa Wallack. The studio has also acquired the rights to White's life and a 2014 profile piece from Men's Journal titled The Woman Who Bails Out the NFL's Bad Boys.

White, a former Miss USA contestant who then became a personal assistant to entertainers and athletes, is known throughout the NFL as a tireless defender who is able to salvage her clients image in times of crisis.

White's clients include NFL stars Vince Young, Jared Allen, Brandon Marshall and DeSean Jackson. In the Men's Journal profile, White explained how these athletes need a motherly figure amid the male-dominated sport.

"You know, people made a fuss about the Blind Side kid, like he was a one-of-a-kind deal," she said in the article. "Well, 90 percent of my clients are the Blind Side kid and need every bit of mothering they can get. Oh, you don't know drama until you've heard my horror story. I'm the only woman manager in the NFL — hell, the only woman, period, in this godforsaken league. How do you think I landed all these guys?"
