Production begins on 'Doctor Strange' starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 24 (UPI) -- Production is now underway on the big-screen, comic-book adaptation Doctor Strange, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Chiwetel Ejiofor, Marvel Studios announced Tuesday.

Set for release Nov. 4, 2016, the film will also feature Rachel McAdams, Michael Stuhlbarg, Mads Mikkelsen and Tilda Swinton.

Director Scott Derrickson will shoot the picture in several locations around the world, including London, New York, Hong Kong and Kathmandu, Nepal.

The movie follows "the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions," a synopsis said.
