PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 23 (UPI) -- Actor-filmmaker Sylvester Stallone admits he is surprised his iconic character -- boxing great Rocky Balboa -- has endured for seven movies over four decades.
"What's amazing is this character and his story have stayed around without any special effects, any car chases; without blowing anything up, which is what I usually do. Seriously, no bullets, no cursing, no sex scenes. Nothing," the 69-year-old star said at a recent Philadelphia press conference for Creed, a movie he produced that once again features him as Rocky, but this time as the trainer of Michael B. Jordan's up-and-coming fighter character Adonis Creed, the son of Rocky's late friend and former ring-rival, Apollo Creed.
