CANNES, France, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- Four new Transformers films are in the works at Hasbro Studios.

"We just finished an incredible experience," he said. "We decided we wanted to plot out the next 10 years of the Transformers franchise, so we got together in a room over a three-month period of time. Nine of the most creative writers I've ever worked with shepherded by Akiva Goldsman."

Goldsman is known for writing such movies as Batman Forever, A Beautiful Mind and I Am Legend. Michael Bay, who directed and executive produced the first four films in the franchise, is also collaborating with Hasbro Studios and Paramount Pictures on the sequels.

Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox led the first two installments, Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, with Fox replaced by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon. Mark Wahlberg and Nicola Peltz took over in Transformers: Age of Extinction.
