James McAvoy, Daniel Radcliffe star in 'Victor Frankenstein' trailer

Radcliffe introduced the film as being a "new twist on a legendary tale."

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe star in a first Victor Frankenstein trailer.

The 36-year-old Scottish actor and 26-year-old English star portray Victor Frankenstein and the scientist's assistant Igor, respectively. The movie aims to tell Victor's origin story from Igor's perspective.

The preview sees a cautious Igor assist an enthusiastic Victor in creating life out of death. The pair face a suspicious detective (Andrew Scott) and dire consequences after they succeed in animating Victor's famous monster.

Victor Frankenstein is inspired by Mary Shelley's 1818 novel Frankenstein, and directed by Lucky Number Slevin helmer Paul McGuigan. The film opens in theaters Nov. 25, and co-stars Downton Abbey actress Jessica Brown Findlay.
