Ryan Reynolds stars in teaser for 'Deadpool' trailer

The movie's actual trailer will debut Tuesday, August 4.

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Deadpool released a snarky teaser ahead of the film's first trailer Monday.

The preview sees Ryan Reynolds blast through the fourth wall as the Marvel character. The irreverent mercenary does his best Don LaFontaine "In a world..." voice as he pokes fun at his previous incarnations and reveals the actual trailer will debut Tuesday.

Reynolds portrayed Deadpool in the 2009 movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which saw him enhanced and controlled by Colonel Stryker. The character possesses accelerated healing powers, ambiguous morals and a propensity to break the fourth wall.

Deadpool is directed by Tim Miller, and opens in theaters Feb. 12, 2016. The film was able to secure an "R" rating, and co-stars Morena Baccarin as Copycat, Ed Skrein as Ajax, T.J. Miller as Weasel and Gina Carano as Angel Dust.
