LOS ANGELES, July 30 (UPI) -- Chrissy Teigen recently went nude for the Naked Issue of Women's Health U.K.

The 29-year-old American model covered the magazine's September issue with nothing but a strategic pose to protect her modesty. Teigen shared the cover image Wednesday on Instagram.

"Whoohoo!! Thank you @UKwomenshealth! And love to the team I can't live without @1maryphillips @giannandrea1 @42west and my fabulous @imgmodels," she captioned the photo.

Teigen is known for promoting positive body image, and discussed her weight and exercise regime with the publication. The model said working out allows her to still enjoy food, such as the pizza she and husband John Legend ate this week in Italy.

"I've always had to watch myself," she admitted to the magazine. "My family is not naturally thin and we put on weight quickly. I find low-carb works for me. Even when I eat healthy grains like quinoa I keep them to a minimum."

"I used to take pride in the fact that I didn't have to work out, and then I hit that age where you have to," she shared. "I want to drink champagne and have hearty dinners, so I would rather work out for an hour and be able to do what I want."

Teigen has modeled for Sports Illustrated, Nike and Olay, and co-hosts Spike TV series Lip Sync Battle. She previously went topless for W magazine, and actively supports the Free the Nipple campaign in protest of Instagram's policies.
